Hi! Welcome to my blog. I’m not sure how you found it or got here, but I’m glad you’re here.
My goal is to distill into a blog decades of me and/or others making mistakes on computers, and me spending the time and energy to find and implement a solution. I’m quick to point out that I’m not the smartest guy on the planet. Shoot, in every area of technology in which I work there are plenty of people far more intelligent than I am. But I have learned a thing or two over the years. Judging from the number of times each week that someone needs my help to solve a problem, I gather that others could stand to acquire some of this information.
This is place where I can pass along some pointers to help you use technology and avoid the pain so many have endured. I prefer to do so in a somewhat laid-back manner as I realize that many of my friends, family and clients are not as technically inclined. Geek talk with a ton of acronyms and where numbers are the punch line to jokes is hard to take. I’m just trying to make reading (hopefully useful) geeky stuff a little bit easier for the yet-to-become geeks.
I truly hope that the few minutes of reading one of these blog entries will equip you with at least some new information that will make you look like a computer genius to someone in your life. I just know someone will whip one of these solutions out in a party or social setting and relish the awe-struck admiration of the surrounding people as they realize they are in the presence of true tech greatness.
Or, someone will save themselves from hours of pain both by not bringing it up at a party, and by not doing something dumb that I have probably done at least once in my life (including talking tech at a party).
So enjoy the blog.
